Each month we will feature and artist who uses the Trekell line of brushes!
Artist Biography:
Award winning artist, Roberta Remy attended Parsons School of
Design, The School of Visual Arts and The Art Students League of New York,
where she studied painting, drawing an d anatomy. Many years of study with
renowned painters has been a major influence in perfecting this artist’s
impressive technique, style, and motivation; all of which have played a part in
her success as a painter. Remy’s work has been included in numerous juried and
invitational shows including the Salmagundi Club, OPA and the Albuquerque Museum
and is held in corporate and private collections throughout the US, Brazil and
Europe.
A contemporary painter working the realist tradition, Roberta
derives inspiration from the old masters and the American Impressionists.
Previously a New York based illustrator, she now makes Santa Fe home base where
she’s been expanding her teaching activities since 1995. She says “When I teach
my students now, I remember the wonderful and generous instructors I’ve been
fortunate to have. I try to follow that tradition and pass it
on”.
Trekell Statement:
I use the Trekell bristle filbert and finally I am so happy
to have found my brush. I’m pressed to say what I’m most delighted about;
whether it is the shape that the brush holds and always returns to, after
washing, or that the ferrule does not get loose around the wood handle or the
very reasonable price for such a high quality tool.
