Developed in 1869, Ingres d'Arches MBM continues the tradition of great French laid papers used for figure drawing in the 19th century. Made on a traditional cylinder mould, using 75% cotton fiber, Arches' Ingres paper allows artists to create smooth gradations and crisp effects with equal ease, while its beautiful texture handles multiple reworkings and corrections without damaging the surface.
All of these qualities come together to create an incredibly versatile paper that is ideally suited to everything from printmaking, to calligraphy, to drawings in charcoal, crayon, pastel and ink. It's no wonder that John Singer Sargent often used Ingres d'Arches MBM for his celebrated portrait and figure drawings! And now, we're pleased to bring you all the unique possibilities this paper offers!
65x50 cm, 130 gsm, 75% cotton, gelatin-sized. Made with alkaline reserve, acid-free, no optical brightening agents (permanent in accordance with ISO 9701)

Ingres d'Arches MBM Paper - 5 Sheets
Wonderful. Love this paper, this is the only paper I will be buying.
Having taken Ramon Hurtado's 19th century drawing workshop, which recommended using this paper, I initially wasn't quite sure what to expect, but after using the stuff, it's crystal clear why artists at the École preferred it. Coming from an atelier setting, I'm used to tickling expensive paper with extremely long, sharpened lead, so this was a completely new and delightful experience, and I'm mad grateful to Trekell for stocking it. Not only would I strongly suggest learning from Ramon if you're looking at buying this paper, but know this: there's some sort of magical, soft, velvety, and reworkable properties that I can't wrap my head around with this paper that will almost certainly give you the results you're looking for if you're drawing with charcoal. Don't be a fool, choose these papes.
Superb whether using it with charcoal conte and stump or just graphite this paper is my one of my personal favorites. You can only get this 130 gsm at trekell. It takes a beating and that tooth though...great paper!
