Eric Johnson is an exceptional Boston based Painter and instructor at The Academy of Realist Art Boston devoted to the preservation and growth of traditional painting. Eric was awarded a one year full scholarship to the Academy of Realist Art Boston.
He later would become a full time instructor and the second person ever to graduate the rigorous and intense observational training provided in the full program at ARA Boston. Eric continues to be a strong participant in the growing appreciation of traditional art.
Eric and his work has been featured in, Rembrandt Secrets Revealed, a film that has been embraced worldwide as one of the most important components of understanding 17th century art. He continues to share his exceptional knowledge with other artists in a series of webinars.
One (extremely) lucky winner will join Eric in this 5 day online workshop where he will demonstrate his entire portrait painting process from start to finish.
Everything from the underpainting, building impasto and glazing will be covered. Each 6 hour day will consist of 5 hours of painting demonstration and 1 hour at the end to answer all of your questions. The whole workshop will be recorded and you will have exclusive access to all 30 hours of it as an instructional video. For centuries, old master artists used systemic painting techniques to complete their works to the highest level.
The winner will also be included in a 6 hour critique day for a limited number of students. During this time, Eric will provide one-on-one troubleshooting and critique time. You will also be able to listen in and see Eric’s annotation and feedback with the other students.
