This soap is the only one I've used for oil paint as I'm a beginner with oils. I've used other brands of soap for acrylic, acryla gouache and watercolor. This soap has been excellent so far. Very easy to use and really gets into the brushes to flush any excess paint out. This will be my go to as long as I keep oil painting.
It cleans my brushes perfectly without being harsh.
This linseed oil soap is an absolute DREAM! Now I like to think of myself as someone who makes it a point to take good care of my brushes. But even the most well intentioned have their "days". I had a few brushes that I let sit out for about a week with oil paint on them (not recommended) and I thought, well...I'll see if these are salvageable. Enter Trekells Linseed Oil Soap. After brushing on some of the oil on each side of the brushes...letting them sit for a short while, then adding a little bit of water, brushing them against a cleaning grate, what happened next was AMAZING. The paints just flowed off of the brushes. From the root to tip...I'm being super honest when I say this is the best soap I've ever used for brush cleaning. It saved my 5 brushes that day and this is a lady stading quite grateful.
This is the soap I recommend to everyone looking to get their brushes clean. Dawn dish soap was always recommended to me, and I still use it sometimes just to get the bulk of paint residue out of my brushes, but they’re not clean until they get cleaned with linseed oil soap. You can tell the brushes aren’t clean, because there’s still paint deep at the base of the brush that only this amazing soap seems to be able to remove. This soap also removed old crusty paint residue from some of my ****** brushes!
I transitioned from acrylics to oils a few months ago- and the biggest challenge with this new medium for me was getting the oil paint off my brushes! I decided to take a chance on Trekell Linseed soap- after trying 3 other brands and WOOOOOOOOWWWWWW im beyond impressed! Super happy to have my brushes restored to their full potential after every use!
I use it exclusively to clean my oil brushes. Can’t be without it. I restore with Trekell brush restorer also.
