Medium of Choice: Watercolor
“I first came across Trekell brushes a few years ago after seeing Greg Simkins use them. Until then, I had used a variety of different brands, but once I got my hands on the Trekell Watercolor Brush Set, it ended my search for the perfect brush and I haven’t looked back.
I use a couple of different brush types, but their Quill Mop is my go-to brush for almost everything. I typically work in three washes, and I can use the Quill Mop through all three of them. The mop can hold incredible amounts of paint and only releases it if you let it. It also holds a very fine tip, so I can go from huge washes to the finest detail, and I could pretty much do a whole painting with just the mop if I had to.
Another thing I love about the brush is how durable it is. Once the tip wears out, I still use the it for bigger areas where the colors can bleed into one another.
Thanks, Trekell, for making the best brushes on the market!"

Watercolorist and sketcher Lauri, also known as “SnapSketcher,” was born in Finland in 1982. He is self-taught and mainly works in ink and wash, using pencils and fountain pens to lay down the basic sketch and then going over the piece in loose washes and splashes of watercolor, usually highlighting the finished painting with white gouache, paint markers, and ink. Most of his work is done in sketchbooks, but he also creates larger works for commissions and exhibitions.

Lauri grew up in Asia and South America, where he developed a love for old architecture and the sounds, smells, and colors of the streets that he now tries to portray in his paintings. Traveling and living abroad have greatly influenced his style, and he loves to travel both domestically and internationally in search of buildings and streets to paint. These days, he lives in Turku, Finland, where he works both en plein air and in the studio.

When not painting, he spends time on his other passion—playing and writing music—often also combining music with painting. Sometimes the best ideas come when he picks up a guitar or sits at his piano while waiting for the paint to dry.
