Medium of Choice: Oil
"Trekell products have always been a part of my artistic practice. I came across them early in my career and the quality and structure immediately stood out to me. They hold their shape and integrity much more than other brands I have tried, providing a longer lasting brush. I can be pretty hard on my brushes, so to have a product that can keep up with me is important. I began my art career as an acrylic painter and have been transitioning to oil paint over the last few years. Regardless of the medium, Trekell has a huge range of brushes for all painting applications, making the switch between acrylic and oil quite painless."

David was born in Aspen, Colorado where he lived until he graduated from high school. Living in Colorado helped David develop a passion for art and the surrounding environment, and spurred his love for the outdoors. After high school, David moved to Boulder, Colorado where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art. His pursuit of art and design has led him from Colorado to San Francisco to Portland, Oregon where he now resides.

The goal of David’s work is to create environments that exist beyond the parameters of our physical world. He often focuses on the themes of identity, as we see ourselves and as we are perceived by others. His work creates a new sense of nostalgia for the viewer—something that seems familiar, but has yet to happen. The subjects blur the line between masculine and feminine, natural and man-made, the past and the future. His aim is to create new relationships between the subjects and the viewer.

David has done projects for many large companies such as Patagonia, WeWork, Starbucks, and Radisson Hotels. He has also been featured in contemporary art print and online publications such as Hi-Fructose, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, American Art Collector, and more.
