Our Onyx - Synthetic Squirrel brushes are designed for artists who want the softness and absorbency of natural squirrel hair with the reliability and durability of a high quality synthetic.
These brushes feature ultra soft, smooth filaments that closely mimic the feel and flow of traditional squirrel hair, making them ideal for watercolor, gouache, and fluid acrylic. The bristles are highly absorbent, allowing you to hold more water or paint and lay down smooth, even washes with ease. They excel at blending, soft edges, and controlled, fluid movement across the surface.
Each brush is made with our Thermyx™ filament. When these brushes are made, the bristles are shaped and heat set into their form, creating a built in memory that helps the brush maintain its shape over time.
If the bristles begin to lose their form, a quick dip in simmering water can help bring them back closer to their original shape. For best results, reshape the bristles while warm and allow them to dry in place. Using Trekell Brush Restorer at this stage will help the bristles dry more firmly and hold their shape longer.
The 6 inch short handle provides excellent control and precision, making these brushes perfect for detailed work and delicate applications.
