How Alex Uses Each Brush

• Size #5/0 Round – Alex uses this small round for the entire face, building structure and illusion with sharp details and precise line work. It is her go-to for features, edges, and filling in tiny areas where control matters most.
• Size #10 Cat’s Tongue – After the face is in place, she moves to the cat’s tongue to paint necks, hair, and the backdrop in one continuous, alla prima session. With light pressure it behaves like a point, and with more pressure it opens up like a flat, so she can switch from crisp forms to broader, painterly shapes without changing brushes.
• 1" Mop – To finish, Alex gently passes the mop brush over the still-wet painting to soften any overly sharp areas and melt colors together into a buttery, blurry effect. The trick is to use almost no pressure and let the ultra-soft bristles do the blending for you.
