Trekell Planchette Panel provides a distinctive planchette-shaped Baltic Birch surface for artists looking for an alternative to traditional rectangular painting panels.

Made from premium 1/2" B/BB Grade Baltic Birch, this solid wood panel provides a smooth, rigid surface without the flex of stretched canvas. The 7.5" x 10" planchette shape is especially suited for mystical, gothic, Halloween, surreal, and unconventional artwork, while still leaving plenty of room for artists to interpret the shape in their own way.

The surface is pre-sanded with 180-grit sandpaper and left completely unprimed, allowing you to prepare it specifically for your preferred medium and technique. With proper preparation, the Planchette Panel can be used with oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, encaustic, ink, enamel, charcoal, pencil, pastel, pyrography, and mixed media.

A CNC-routed keyhole on the back allows the finished artwork to hang directly on the wall without a frame.

Preparing Your Panel

This panel arrives unprimed so you can prepare the surface for your preferred medium. Oil and acrylic artists can seal and prime the Baltic Birch with their preferred ground, while watercolor artists should apply watercolor ground or mount watercolor paper to the painting surface.

For pyrography or techniques where you want to work directly on the natural Baltic Birch, the pre-sanded surface can be used without applying a painting ground.
