Trekell Unprimed Wood Panels provide a smooth, rigid Baltic Birch surface for artists who want complete control over how their painting surface is prepared.

Each panel is made from premium 1/4" B/BB Grade Baltic Birch and pre-sanded with 180-grit sandpaper for a smooth, consistent surface. The wood is left completely unprimed so you can seal and prepare it specifically for your preferred medium and technique.

With proper preparation, these versatile panels can be used with oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, encaustic, ink, enamel, charcoal, pencil, pastel, pyrography, and mixed media. At just 1/4" thick, the flat panel provides a rigid alternative to canvas while remaining lightweight and easy to transport or store.

Preparing Your Panel

This panel arrives unprimed so you can prepare the surface for your preferred medium. Oil and acrylic artists can seal and prime the Baltic Birch with their preferred ground, while watercolor artists should apply watercolor ground or mount watercolor paper to the surface.

For pyrography or techniques where you want to work directly on the natural Baltic Birch, the pre-sanded surface can be used without applying a painting ground.

For hanging or display, this flat panel should be framed or mounted to a cradle.
