Trekell Floater Panel β 1/2" Baltic Birch β 5" x 5"
Trekell Floater Panels combine a painting surface and built-in frame into a single piece of Baltic Birch, creating the appearance of a traditionally framed floater panel without requiring a separate frame.
This panel features a 5" x 5" painting surface made from premium 1/2" B/BB Grade Baltic Birch. A 1/4" routed gap separates the painting surface from the 1/2" outer frame, creating the visual effect of the artwork floating within its frame while maintaining the strength and simplicity of one solid piece of wood.
The surface is pre-sanded with 180-grit sandpaper and left completely unprimed, allowing you to prepare it specifically for your preferred medium and technique. With proper preparation, the panel can be used with oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, encaustic, ink, enamel, charcoal, pencil, pastel, pyrography, and mixed media.
A CNC-routed keyhole on the back makes the finished panel ready to hang without additional framing.

Understanding the Floater Panel Size
The 5" x 5" size refers to the painting surface, not the total outside dimensions of the panel. The routed gap and integrated frame add approximately 1 1/2" to both dimensions, making this panel approximately 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" overall.
Preparing Your Panel
This panel arrives unprimed so you can prepare the surface for your preferred medium. Oil and acrylic artists can seal and prime the Baltic Birch with their preferred ground, while watercolor artists should apply watercolor ground or mount watercolor paper to the painting surface.
For pyrography or techniques where you want to work directly on the natural Baltic Birch, the pre-sanded surface can be used without applying a painting ground.
