DESCRIPTION
Note: Gap and frame add 1 ½ inches to the width and length of the dimensions stated below. Example: An 8” panel denotes the panel’s usable space and really measures 9 ½”.
Trekell’s Floater Panel is a one-piece, handsome hunk of ¾”-thick Baltic birch that has a section routed out to make the art panel look like a frame. In turn, that ¼” gap plays with the eye’s ability to distinguish dimension, allowing whatever you create upon the panel's interior to look as though it’s suspended within the surrounding ½” of stylish wood. It’s a clever trick, highlighting your work without any extra effort on your part. Each panel comes with a key-hole in the back for easy hanging. I love the look of the full floater panel and just gave it a Golden brand WC ground surface- it looks fabulous and I am excited to paint on it !
FABULOUS
I saw this item demonstrated by an art teacher today. He covered the edges with tape to keep them clean and then painted his landscape. Pull of the tape to reveal a perfect frame of crisp clean wood. This creates a really beautiful effect - and no additional framing would be required.
