Protégé Synthetic Kolinsky brushes are designed to deliver the performance and feel of traditional Kolinsky sable with the reliability and consistency of a high quality synthetic.

The filaments are engineered to mimic the movement, snap, and responsiveness of natural hair, making them suitable for watercolor, acrylic, oil, and a wide range of other media. The short handle offers precise control for both intricate detail and more expressive strokes.

The round brushes are shaped to closely resemble a natural Kolinsky sable brush, featuring a full belly that holds paint and a fine needle point tip for precision. This combination allows for smooth transitions between controlled detail work and fluid, expressive lines without constantly reloading your brush.

Each brush is made with our Thermyx™ filament. When these brushes are made, the bristles are shaped and heat set into their form, creating a built in memory that helps the brush maintain its structure and performance over time.

If the bristles begin to lose their shape, a quick dip in simmering water can help bring them back closer to their original form. For best results, reshape the bristles while warm and allow them to dry in place. Using Trekell Brush Restorer at this stage will help the bristles dry more firmly and hold their shape longer.
